Hi, guys. Michelle Garcia with LakeCDArealestate.com and Windermere Coeur d’Alene Realty. I wanted to introduce you to the Falls Park. Let’s go ahead over here.
This is in Post Falls, and this is actually kind of what Post Falls is known for is this section we’re about to show you. So the Falls Park, we happen to be here in the fall, and there’s a dam that we’ll show you some different highlights of this park. We’re not going to explore the whole thing. But I’ll go ahead and show this. And then this little thing right here.
There’s all kinds of little things like this throughout the park that teach you about the history of the area. Avista owns this area now, but to the right, you can see the kiddie park. They really developed it. There’s all these walking trails. And there’s a picnic area over on the right. There’s the little pond area. Sometimes people fish that. And then you’ve got this area over on the left. You can see all the ducks and… So as far as real estate goes, I do real estate, so sometimes when you’re looking at, say, waterfront property in Post Falls, it’s going to be on the Spokane River, generally. And we’re kind of right at the end point, where if you want to buy a property that’s waterfront that can have access to Lake Coeur d’Alene, the Spokane River goes to Lake Coeur d’Alene or the lake flows into the Spokane River. If it’s to the east of this park, then you can get to the lake. If it’s to the west of this Avista Falls Park, then you can’t get to the lake. So it is kind of a determining factor.
But you can see here as we approach, this is the river, and then the dam is off to the right. And we’ll go over there. I’ll show you that in a sec. There’s not a lot of activity on the dam because of the time of year we are in, being the fall. In the springtime when the snow melts, oh my gosh, this is an incredible experience to witness. Go ahead and show that. So that just gives you an idea of where… Pan to the “You are here.” So we are in that red spot right there.
So yeah, this is kind of the separating point as far as real estate goes, like I said, with the waterfront properties as to whether you can access the lake or not. But we’ll give you a better view as we come up here.
So, to the left is the dam. I’ll just keep walking. So yeah, it’s really beautiful, though, and this is a popular spot. [inaudible 00:03:48] because it’s so pretty. You’ve got a fun little going. Perfect. So that’s a pretty good view right there. Let’s see, let’s stop right here. So you can see that tower. Post Falls is doing a lot of development, and they’re trying to kind of create this downtown area. So I’ll do a separate video of the new development opportunities for that downtown area. But you can see there’s condos on the left there, and then there’s a bridge. And that goes to the other side of the river, obviously. And so on the left side, you have city property and on the right side, generally nothing on the other side of the bridge is city at this point. [inaudible 00:04:47] has talked about the city annexing in different properties.
But in any case you can see it’s a desirable area. Those condos on the left, those are called Waterside. Those are fairly new. There’s another development just on the other side of the bridge, but on the north side of the river, still city property, but those condos are a little bit older. There’s a bunch of waterfront homes. Templins, the Red Lion properties, over there as well. So this is kind of the beginning point. And then you can head east toward Lake Coeur d’Alene, but just very desirable. I’m going to take you to one last view point. So let’s keep walking.
So this park is really cool because people come here just for a little walk. It’s actually really beautiful all year round. When it’s snowy, it’s very pretty. And it’s free, there’s no cost. And when the kids are little or when people come to town, this is one of the highlights of things people want to see. And I don’t know if you can pick it up on the video or not, but we’re not far from the freeway. So we’re just south of the freeway, highway 90. And you’ll see that here in a minute. But Centennial bridge is over there. You’ll hear me talk about the Centennial Trail quite a bit. It goes all the way over here. And from here, it goes east into Coeur d’Alene and to the west into Spokane, the Centennial trail does. But yeah, that’s the Spokane river, the other side of the dam. And it’s just a really cool area. So if you are interested in anything I talked about here, get in touch with me. Best way to do that is LakeCDArealestate.com.
