Coeur d’Alene City Hall-The Coeur d’Alene City Hall is a historic building in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. It was built in 1908, and designed in the Renaissance Revival style by architect George Williams.

Coeur d’Alene City Building Dept.-The intention is to safeguard life, health, property and public welfare by regulating and controlling the construction, quality of materials, use of all buildings and structures within the City of Coeur d’Alene by the administration and enforcement of the applicable adopted building codes.

Coeur d’Alene City Clerk-The office of the Coeur d’Alene City Clerk is a public-service division that maintains a complete and accurate record of council proceedings; preserves official city records; manages Sunshine Law reports for municipal elections; provides administrative support to the city council, and provides prompt and courteous service to city residents, the City Council and city staff. 

Coeur d’Alene City Licensing and Permits–The City Clerk is the local licensing officer for specific types of business activities, and child care facilities and workers.  Other departments also issue permits for things such as burning, construction, discharge of wastewater, encroachments, fireworks, etc.

Coeur d’Alene City Electrical & Plumbing Inspection-Inspections are taken on a first come, first serve basis and  need a minimum of 24 hours’ notice.   They do not perform same day inspections. When the schedule is full you will be given the next available date which could be 2 days out from the call in date.

Kootenai County Clerk-In Kootenai County, there are over 100 deputy clerks who work in the various departments under the Clerk as well as in the Board of County Commissioners’ Office. In the role of Auditor, the Clerk’s office is responsible to prepare the annual county budget for the Board of County Commissioners.

Kootenai County Commissioner-The Board of County Commissioners (also referred to as the BOCC or Board) is the governing body of Kootenai County. Consisting of three elected officials, the Board serves as the taxing authority, the contracting body and the chief administrators of public funds.

Kootenai County Courthouse-The two main court buildings for Kootenai County are located in the Courthouse Complex at the corner of Government Way and Garden Avenue in Coeur d’Alene.

Government Agencies

State of Idaho Division of Building Safety–The University of Idaho has the responsibility to provide a healthy and safe workplace. EHS coordinates the Division of Building Safety Inspections, which include an annual physical walk-through and an overall general preventive maintenance review.

Department of Land- The Idaho Department of Lands is a state-level government agency of Idaho that manages State Trust Lands. IDL oversees forestry practices on state lands and some regulation of mining practices, as well as administering forestry programs and providing fire protection and prevention on state lands.

Environmental Quality-The Idaho Department of Environmental Quality is the department of the Idaho state government responsible for administration of state and federal environmental laws and regulations. The main offices of the department are in Boise, six regional offices are also maintained.

Idaho Dept. of Water Resources-The Idaho Department of Water Resources serves the people of Idaho and protects their welfare by making sure water is conserved and available to sustain Idaho’s economy, ecosystem and the resulting quality of life.

Fish & Game-To hunt in Idaho you need a hunting license. Depending on the species you want to hunt, you may need a tag or permit.

Coeur d’Alene / Post Falls Press-The Coeur d’Alene Press was first published on February 20, 1892. Burl Hagadone was named publisher of the newspaper in 1936, and purchased half of Scripps Newspapers Inc., stock in the newspaper in April 1946. 

Nickels Worth-Richard Haakenson launched Nickel’s Worth in February of 1972 as a four-page want ad weekly covering the five counties of North Idaho. Want ads to cost $1 and circulation was about 12,000. With the hope of providing North Idaho with an alternative newspaper, Martin and Carol Stacey bought the Nickel’s Worth in November of the same year and supplemented the advertising with editorials, reviews, cartoons, and local news items.

Spokesman Review-The Spokesman-Review is a daily broadsheet newspaper based in Spokane, Washington, the city’s sole remaining daily publication. It has the third-highest readership among daily newspapers in the state, with most of its readership base in eastern Washington and northern Idaho.

East Side Highway District– The Kootenai County Eastside Highway District, located in Coeur d’Alene, ID, is a government agency that oversees Coeur d’Alene transportation systems 

Lakes Highway District- The Lakes Highway District was formed in May of 1971 as a result of the consolidation of the Kootenai County Road Department and four individual highway districts: Belmont, Bench, Dalton and Hayden Lake.

East Side Fire District- East Side Fire District is a Fire Department located in Harrison, KOOTENAI County, in the State of ID.

Hauser Lake Fire District- The Hauser Lake Fire Protection District (HLFPD) is a dedicated volunteer organization serving our community through fire suppression and prevention

Kootenai County Fire & Rescue- Kootenai County Fire & Rescue is committed to preserving life and property for the residents and vis.

Mica Kidd Island Fire District- Mica Kidd Island Fire Protection District was established in 1979. Mica Kidd Island Fire Protection District’s primary responsibility is to provide fire and emergency response to all members within our district.

Northern Lakes Fire District- Today, the District serves five communities with more than 60,000 residents. They are an all-hazards organization that provides structural and wildland fire protection, advanced life support emergency medical services, fire prevention, and public education services, to those they serve.

Shoshone Fire Protection- Their district provides Fire and EMS services to approximately 65 square miles in a mountainous region with an approximate population of 5,500 permanent citizens.

Spirit Lake Fire District- Today, the District is well recognized in the community and in both counties.   It receives support from citizens and local businesses whenever needed, and the District thanks the community for their continued support regarding Fire and Emergency Medical Services, without community support, our efforts would go without notice. The DISTRICT provides Fire and Emergency Medical Services to approximately 7,350 people

St. Maries Fire District- Saint Maries Fire Protection District is a Fire Department located in St. Maries, BENEWAH County, in the State of ID.

Timberlake Fire District- The Timberlake Fire Protection District will reduce the loss of life, protect property, and minimize environmental damage by providing effective public education, fire, medical, rescue, and other essential services in a professional and efficient manner.

Worley Fire District- The Worley Fire Protection District, located in Worley, ID, provides fire protection and emergency response services to the Worley community. The Fire Department’s mission is to prevent the loss of life and property. In addition to responding to fires, the Worley Fire Protection District also responds to medical emergencies, motor vehicle accidents, rescue calls, and incidents involving hazardous materials.

Avondale Irrigation District- Avondale Irrigation District was formed in 1908 and has been serving Domestic and Irrigation Water to portions of Hayden, Hayden Lake and Kootenai County ever since.

Bayview Sewer & Water- The Bayview Water District, located in Bayview, ID, is an utility company that provides public services for Bayview residents. In Kootenai County, Utility Companies provide electricity, natural gas, water, and sewer services. Bayview residents can contact the Utility Company to learn about services, start or stop Utility services, or for billing and payment information.

Hayden Lake Sewer District- located in Hayden Lake, ID, United States and is part of the Utility System Construction Industry.

Hayden Lake Irrigation District– The Hayden Lake Irrigation District, located in Hayden, ID, is an utility company that provides public services for Hayden residents. In Kootenai County, Utility Companies provide electricity, natural gas, water, and sewer services.

N. Kootenai Water & Sewer- The mission of the North Kootenai Water District is to provide affordable, reliable, and safe water resources to Their customers. They strive to achieve this through professional management, fiscal responsibility, customer satisfaction, governmental compliance and conservation. They do this in the public’s trust, while protecting the water quality of our greater community.

Panhandle Health District- Panhandle Public Health District is working together to improve the health, safety and quality of life for all who live, learn, work and play in the Panhandle.

Panhandle ICP- The Institutional Controls Program (ICP) is a locally enforced set of rules and regulations designed to ensure the integrity of clean soil and other protective barriers placed over contaminants left throughout the Bunker Hill Superfund site.

Army Corp of Engineers- The United States Army Corps of Engineers is an engineer formation of the United States Army that has three primary mission areas: engineer regiment, military construction, and civil works.

Bonneville Power- BPA markets wholesale electrical power from 31 federal hydroelectric projects in the Northwest, one nonfederal nuclear plant and several small nonfederal power plants.

Dept. of Environmental Quality- The Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) is a state department created by the Idaho Environmental Protection and Health Act to ensure clean air, water, and land in the state and protect Idaho citizens from the adverse health impacts of pollution.
